Watch the video and answer the following questions:

QUESTIONS:
1. What are the communication barriers that the 2 persons experienced?

The woman was experiencing psychological barriers because she explained that she was tired of the stereotypes given to her by the people and that she was not confident enough to speak in English. She and her partner were also experiencing linguistic barriers as she had difficulty in speaking in English, while her boyfriend struggled to understand Filipino.
2. Why does breakdown of communication occur?

Communication breakdowns occur because of the barriers they are facing. 
3. What is AFAM? What is Jacky Lou? What is Gold Digger?

AFAM is slang word that means "a foreigner assigned in Manila". Jacky Lou is an expression that came from "jackpot" and "lugi". In the video, it was explained that the girl hit a "jackpot" for having an AFAM boyfriend, while he was "lugi" because he had her as his girlfriend. Gold digger is what they call someone who enters a relationship with the intention of taking money from their partner, rather than giving them love.
4. What are the issues of the girl? Enumerate and explain.

The girl she is stressed out of translating everything she says in English because her skills are "limited". She also mentioned that she was tired of people who keep stereotyping her that she is a gold digger and a Jacky Lou just because she had a foreigner as a boyfriend.

5. Can their situation be resolved/improved? If yes, why and how? If no explain why.

Their situation would have been resolved if the girl had more patience and her partner had been able to understand her better. I also think that if the people were not so quick to judge and stereotype other people just for speaking in English or having foreigners as their partners, the relationship would've worked.
