In your own words, what are the different types of speech according to purpose and delivery?

There are two major types of speeches that people use: speeches according to purpose, and speeches according to delivery. There are three main types of speeches according to their purpose: informative/expository, persuasive, and entertainment. The informative/expository speech aims to educate the audience on information about a particular topic, while the persuasive speech's purpose is to convince the audience to agree with the speaker's opinion on a certain topic. The third type of speech according to purpose is the entertainment speech, where it aims to share enjoyment to the audience with witty and funny dialogue.

When it comes to the types of speeches according to delivery, there are four, and these are the manuscript speech, memorized speech, extemporaneous speech and impromptu speech. In manuscript speeches, the speaker reads the written message word-for-word while using visual aids. Although it is like the manuscript speech, extemporaneous speeches are carefully planned and rehearsed by the speaker, who uses cue cards instead of visual aids in order to deliver their speech. Memorized speeches are delivered by the speaker as they recite it out of memory, without having to read notes and visual aids. And lastly, impromptu speeches differ from the rest as it is delivered without preparation and for the people who knows the subject well, unlike the previous speeches that are planned beforehand.
